Project MUSE to preserve e-journals with Portico (23 . 02 . 2015)

Agreement represents more than 600 journals from 120 publishers

Project MUSE has entered into an agreement with Portico to preserve its complete collection of scholarly electronic journals, which contains titles from more than 120 not-for-profit scholarly publishers worldwide. Project MUSE and Portico began their partnership in 2012 with the preservation of e-books from the University Press Content Consortium (UPCC) collection.

Since 1995 the MUSE journal collections (subscribed by IReL) have supported a wide array of research needs at academic, public, special, and school libraries worldwide. MUSE provides complete, full-text versions of scholarly journals from many of the world's leading university presses and scholarly societies.


About Project MUSE
Project MUSE is a trusted provider of digital humanities and social science content for the scholarly community, offering access to books and journals from more than 200 of the world's most distinguished not-for-profit publishers. Content from over 600 journals is currently offered, including many prestigious flagship titles in their respective disciplines. UPCC Book Collections on Project MUSE, launched in January 2012, now consist of more than 35,000 frontlist and archival book titles, fully integrated with MUSE's scholarly journal content.
