Embase security upgrade (13 . 02 . 2017)
On February 28, 2017, Embase will make an important security upgrade by enforcing secure socket layer (SSL) across the Embase platform. Thus, Embase will be available only through the secure HTTPS protocol enabling encrypted communications between your browser and the Embase web application, protecting the privacy and integrity of the exchanged data.
SSL is the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browsers remain private and integral. SSL is an industry standard and is used by millions of websites and web applications in the protection of their online transactions with their customers.
For most customers, this change will not affect the use of Embase in any way. For any customers using EzProxy -- or similar proxy systems like WAN/Proxy/HANProxy -- your proxy service may require a configuration change to allow SSL encryption.
