  • American Geophysical Union - CANCELLED (end of 09)

    AGU is a worldwide scientific community that advances the understanding of Earth and space for the benefit of humanity. AGU publishes highly respected, peer-reviewed scientific journals, including the Journal of Geophysical Research, which comprises seven disciplinary sections, and the highly cited Reviews of Geophysics.     The American Institute of Physics (AIP) is a not-for-profit membership corporation created for the purpose of promoting the advancement and diffusion of the knowledge of physics and its application to human welfare.   • American Mathematical Society

    IReL institutions are members of the American Mathematical Society for 2008 with subscriptions to nine journals and free access to an additional four publications and services.

    The ARTstor Digital Library provides more than one million images with tools for teaching and research.   • ASSIA: Applied Social Sciences Index and Abstracts

    ASSIA: Applied Social Sciences Index and Abstracts on the Web is an indexing and abstracting tool covering health, social services, psychology, sociology, economics, politics, race relations and education. Updated monthly, ASSIA provides a comprehensive source of social science and health information for the practical and academic professional.

  • Bibliography of British and Irish History

    Previously known as the Royal Historical Society Bibliography. An authoritative guide to what has been written about British and Irish history from the Roman period to the present day.

  • BioMed Central - CANCELLED (end of 2009)

    BioMed Central is an independent "Open Access" publishing house "committed to providing immediate free access to peer-reviewed biomedical research". IReL's Supporter Membership expired on the 31st of October 2010. The Faculty of 1000 Biology, Medicine and Genome Biology are no longer available through IReL. Please check your library's catalogue for local holdings.

  • Blackwell Synergy - moved to Wiley-Blackwell

    Blackwell Publishing is the world's leading society publisher, partnering with 665 academic, medical, and professional societies. Blackwell publishes 850 journals and, to date, has over 6,000 books in print.

  • BMJ Journals

    Business Source Complete is the world's definitive scholarly business database, providing the leading collection of bibliographic and full-text content.

    Business Source Complete exceeds all other databases available in terms of its premium content of peer-reviewed, business related journals. Included as part of the comprehensive coverage offered by this database are indexing and abstracts for the most important scholarly business journals, dating back as far as 1886.

  • CAB Abstracts - CANCELLED (end of 2009)

    CAB Abstracts is the most comprehensive bibliographic, abstracting and indexing database in the applied life sciences. Covering over 150 countries, and over 50 languages, it gives researchers access to an abundance of information often not available from other databases. The Combined file of CAB Abstracts and Global Health is delivered on CAB Direct. This resource is no longer available through IReL. Please check your library's catalogue for local holdings.

  • Cambridge Journals Online

    Cambridge Journals Online (CJO) is the e-publishing service for over 280 journals published by Cambridge University Press.

  • Cell Press

    Cell Press, an imprint of Elsevier, is committed to improving scientific communication through the publication of exciting research and reviews. Each of our titles is viewed as a must-read by the scientific community it serves.

  • Compendex - CANCELLED (end of 2011)

    Compendex is the most comprehensive bibliographic database of engineering research available today, containing references and abstracts to over 5,000 engineering journals, conferences and technical reports.
