  • ACLS Humanities eBook

    ACLS Humanities E-Book (HEB) is an online collection of almost 5,000 books of high quality in the Humanities, accessible through institutional and individual subscription. These are works of major importance, from 250 publishers, that remain vital to both scholars and advanced students, and are frequently cited in the literature.

  • ACM Digital Library

    The ACM DL is a vast collection of citations and full text from ACM journal and newsletter articles and conference proceedings.

  • American Chemical Society (ACS)

    The American Chemical Society is the leading publisher of peer-reviewed research journals in the chemical and related sciences, serving scientific communities worldwide through an unparalleled commitment to quality, reliability, and innovation.

    Online access to the journals published by the ACS. Includes archival access to all titles back to 1879.

  • American Geophysical Union - CANCELLED (end of 09)

    AGU is a worldwide scientific community that advances the understanding of Earth and space for the benefit of humanity. AGU publishes highly respected, peer-reviewed scientific journals, including the Journal of Geophysical Research, which comprises seven disciplinary sections, and the highly cited Reviews of Geophysics.   • American Institute of Physics Journals

    The American Institute of Physics (AIP) is a not-for-profit membership corporation created for the purpose of promoting the advancement and diffusion of the knowledge of physics and its application to human welfare. It is the mission of the Institute to serve the sciences of physics and astronomy by serving its member societies, by serving individual scientists, and by serving students and the general public.

  • American Mathematical Society

    IReL institutions are members of the American Mathematical Society since 2008 with subscriptions to the EJC collection.

    The ARTstor Digital Library provides more than one million images with tools for teaching and research.   • ASME Digital Collections

ASME also conducts one of the world's largest technical publishing operations in the world, offering thousands of titles including some of the profession's most prestigious journals, conference proceedings, and ASME Press books.

  • ASSIA: Applied Social Sciences Index and Abstracts

    ASSIA: Applied Social Sciences Index and Abstracts on the Web is an indexing and abstracting tool covering health, social services, psychology, sociology, economics, politics, race relations and education. Updated monthly, ASSIA provides a comprehensive source of social science and health information for the practical and academic professional.

  • BioMed Central - CANCELLED (end of 2009)

    BioMed Central is an independent "Open Access" publishing house "committed to providing immediate free access to peer-reviewed biomedical research". IReL's Supporter Membership expired on the 31st of October 2010. The Faculty of 1000 Biology, Medicine and Genome Biology are no longer available through IReL. Please check your library's catalogue for local holdings.

  • BMJ Journals

    The BMJ Publishing Group Ltd publishes a wide range of medical journals covering a broad selection of medical specialities. The journals are peer reviewed and have international Editorial Boards to ensure global relevance. Many of their journals are leaders in their field.

  • CAB Abstracts - CANCELLED (end of 2009)

    CAB Abstracts is the most comprehensive bibliographic, abstracting and indexing database in the applied life sciences. Covering over 150 countries, and over 50 languages, it gives researchers access to an abundance of information often not available from other databases.     Cambridge Journals Online (CJO) is the e-publishing service for over 300 journals published by Cambridge University Press.

  • Cell Press

    Cell Press, an imprint of Elsevier, is committed to improving scientific communication through the publication of exciting research and reviews. Each of our titles is viewed as a must-read by the scientific community it serves.

  • Compendex - CANCELLED (end of 2011)

    Compendex is the most comprehensive bibliographic database of engineering research available today, containing references and abstracts to over 5,000 engineering journals, conferences and technical reports.   • Derwent Innovations Index - CANCELLED (end of '09)

    Derwent Innovations Index provides access to more than 14,800,000 patents with links to cited and citing patents, cited articles, and full-text patent data sources. Please note: this resource is no longer available through IReL. Please check your library's catalogue for local holdings.

  • Electrochemical Society titles

    ECS was founded in 1902 as an international nonprofit, educational organization concerned with a broad range of phenomena relating to electrochemical and solid-state science and technology. The Electrochemical Society has more than 8,000 scientists and engineers in over 70 countries worldwide who hold individual membership, as well as roughly 100 corporations and laboratories that hold corporate membership.


    EMBASE is a biomedical and pharmacological database which gives you access to the most up-to-date information about medical and drug-related subjects. EMBASE contains over 11 million records from 1974 to present, with over 500,000 citations and abstracts added annually. These records reflect all current developments in biomedical and drug-related fields. Comprehensive inclusion of drug-related information makes EMBASE particularly valuable. EMBASE is the database of choice when carrying out drug-related searches. With live links to full content on Science Direct.
